Why is Aftercare Important?
Aftercare is important to ensure that Ibogaine is not a temporary fix. Sometimes, patients look to Ibogaine to remove withdrawal symptoms and allow them to return to their previous routine quickly. However, this approach increases the chance of relapse. Aftercare involves creating a plan to avoid relapse triggers, focus on recovery, and change your lifestyle. Comprehensive aftercare solutions allow you to take full advantage of the profound effects of Ibogaine.
How to Plan Your Aftercare?
You should begin creating your aftercare plan as soon as you decide to take Ibogaine. Having a plan in place will allow you to maximize the effects of your treatment. While Ibogaine can help treat physical withdrawal symptoms, there are many more factors involved in addiction. Ibogaine treatment may provide a retreat from some of these factors, but many of them return once people leave our facility. It’s important to make an aftercare plan that includes avoiding relapse triggers. Here are three steps that can help you reduce the risk of a relapse after Ibogaine treatment.
1. Change Your Setting
For many people, their addictions and triggers are closely tied to their environment. If they were around other people who were using, returning to those relationships significantly increases the chances of relapse. In addition, many people beginning their recovery journey face significant obstacles, professionally, socially, and financially. Returning to these situations right away can cause them to become overwhelmed and relapse. For all these reasons, we strongly recommend that people do not return to their old home or routine right away after taking Ibogaine. To succeed and maintain their sobriety, they need to prepare themselves for a new life. One of the best ways to do this is to remove yourself from your old life, at least temporarily. This can help you adjust to sobriety in a new setting without any of your old triggers.
2. Take Time For Your Recovery
One of the reasons people might relapse after Ibogaine is that they do not take enough time to focus on their recovery. They may feel internal or external pressure to return to their old job, social life, or relationships. However, returning to their normal roles or attempting to take on new responsibilities too quickly can be a factor in relapse.
There are several ways to set aside time to focus on recovery. It might be helpful to stay with friends or family in a new state. Other patients enter in-patient or out-patient recovery programs. For patients who are limited financially, we recomend the program WWOOF. This program places people on organic farms where they are given food and housing in exchange for working during the week. This program is a low-cost way to set up a new routine in a new location, away from potential triggers or your old social scene. Whatever you choose, it’s important to set up a plan that will provide you with the time and setting to focus on your recovery.
3. Choose the Programs That Will Work For You
There are a variety of programs designed to support sobriety that can be useful as part of aftercare. Some people prefer 12-step programs, while others may benefit the most from alternative programs or individual therapy. We recommend SMART Recovery, a science-based program that is now widely available. This program offers online meetings, which can be useful for people who may be transitioning to a new location as part of their recovery.

I cannot say enough about Experience Ibogaine Treatment Center and the staff there. I'm not sure my words can truly encompass the amount of love and gratitude I have for the staff and treatment but I'll give it a shot. This is going to be a long one...To start, I did quite a bit of research and reading about Ibogaine and different Ibogaine clinics and wasn't completely sold on the idea. It was after my consultation call with Aeden that I felt at ease and that "gut feeling" was settled and on board. He took the time to explain the process and answer all of my questions. I felt like he was completely upfront, honest, and transparent which is what I was looking for. He also made himself available after the introductory call to answer additional questions and concerns that I had which was great.I made the decision to commit to the process, reserve my date for treatment and buy my airfare, and I was excited. As the date grew closer some nerves were creeping up but the excitement outweighed the nerves. It wasn't until I was standing outside of the San Diego airport with a substantial amount of cash in my backpack waiting for a complete stranger to pick me up that I really felt the nerves again lol. Then Michael pulled up (a driver for the clinic) and got out of the car with what I would describe as that "cool California vibe" to great me and grab my bag. Once again, I felt completely at ease after meeting him.Once I got to the facility and got settled in I met up with Aeden and we chatted about different life experiences which was really cool. It was comforting to meet the person that was on the other end of the phone for that consultation call and all of my follow up questions. I would like to recognize and salute him for his energy and passion that shines through for the work that he is doing.Jonathan, one of the medical staff and the 5Meo-DMT facilitator was truly a special soul in my opinion. I don't know how to quite put it in to words other than to say when you meet someone and you can just feel their kind, caring and gentle energy. That's how I would describe Jonathan. I can't thank him enough for holding space for me during my DMT experience with such patience, kindness, care and safety.One last shout out to Valerie for making a special trip to get me some artisan chocolates! True to form, I was looking for some sweets in the snack area lol, when she asked what she could get me. I told her that I have an insatiable sweet tooth and she replied with "well what do you want!?" She came in the next day with the most beautiful box of chocolates, almost to beautiful to eat...but I took a picture and ate them anyway :)I am only about 2 weeks out from my experience with the medicine and have definitely noticed more "balance" with my mood and no longer have the desire to drink. I appreciate the aftercare follow up integration sessions that are included with the treatment cost. The Ibogaine was the most intense "trip" I've ever experienced but I would absolutely do it again and the same goes for the 5Meo-DMT.All of this to say that I truly felt cared for with love, kindness and respect from the staff here. I truly feel inspired to write this review after coming from another Ibogaine clinic last week. I’ve been to Experience Ibogaine twice, and both experiences were nothing short of life changing. Unfortunately, I did not adhere to my aftercare programs/meetings as diligently as I should have, and I had another relapse. I would have gone to them a 3rd time, but I was semi embarrassed to ask the owner if I could come back and I also had some issues crossing back into the states at the Mexican boarder as a Canadian. So I went to another Ibogaine clinic to deal with severe depression/anxiety/alcoholism in Playa del Carmen. The staff at Experience Ibogaine treat your withdrawal symptoms and get you stabilized as soon as you arrive. When I arrived at this other clinic, they saw how sick I was, and made me fill out a waiver and had me pee in a cup. Gave me one Valium pill and told me to rest in my room. The nurses should hardly speak any English, the only person who could actually speak English was the supervisor and the first person of contact when you phone the clinic for inquiries. It doesn’t stop there. They gave me a full dose of Ibogaine the 2nd day I was there, even though I still had alcohol in my system the day before. The nurses/paramedic at Experience Ibogaine make sure you are fully detoxed, nutrient replenished and hydrated before you receive Ibogaine, as it’s a very intense medicine, especially on your heart. The other clinic did not have any emergency buttons to press if you need help, so I would have to shout down the hall for help. One of the nurses there also told me my IV drip was working when I could clearly tell it was not, so I had to instruct her to use the needle to push the fluid into my vein so the drip could continue. They also gave me 2 Valium’s while I was on Ibogaine, and looking back, I would not have taken them if I was in my right state of mind because Valium can numb the mental and emotional work of Ibogaine. They also kept asking all the patients to give them 5 star reviews and if they could record you giving a testimonial. For me, they did this right before my Ibogaine treatment, lol. Anyway, the list goes on, all I can say is that if you’re looking to go to an Ibogaine clinic, for your own sake please consider choosing Experience Ibogaine. The nurses, paramedic and owners can’t be topped. They’re number one and I regret not consulting with Aedan before making the poor decision to trust another clinic.

I went to the Experience Ibogaine Treatment Center about 2.5 weeks ago for my PTSD, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, and Social Anxiety. As of now I've noticed a huge difference in my emotional and nervous system regulation. I feel comfortable around people again and I'm no longer in a perpetual state of fight or flight. This treatment was intense and you have to continue working on yourself after you receive it, but in my opinion it was worth every penny.Also the whole staff provided a safe and loving environment that made me feel comfortable throughout my whole stay. I recommend this treatment if you're truly ready to change your life for the better. I hope to come back some day just to visit and explore the area, it's beautiful there.

I just recently had my 2nd tour through Experience Ibogaine's Ibogaine treatment and 5 meo dmt. I came last yr for drug use (cocain addiction) and this yr for just a reset, a mental health reset.It helped me tremendously the first time. And this 2nd trip through was even better.This facility is ran altruisticly. Aiden isn't out to get rich. He's legit running this operation to help ppl with mental health and addiction issues. The staff here is amazing. There is so much hospitality that goes on here that is not talked about or promoted online. They took us into town after our DMT for a full body massage, took us out to eat for dinner to a fantastic restaurant. Its just great here.Thomas the chef is amazing. The nurse staff are so giving. Jonathan the nurse/shaman is so into the administration of the dmt...its his craft, his profession. You have zoom meetings with physicadellic therapist, a therapist comes to talk to you. The food is amazing.This place is great. Ibogaine has its place for each person and their specific needs and I would highly recommend you do plenty of research beforehand if you are considering coming here. I returned from my trip to Experience Ibogaine just over a week ago. My experience has been fantastic. Upon inquiry a couple of months ago, Aeden reached out to me within a couple of days and was always available to connect with for questions leading up to the journey. From the time I arrived, everyone associated with the center was amazing. From Michael picking me up at the airport and an enjoyable drive to the facility, to Tomas the wonderful cook and the entire treatment staff, each went above and beyond to provide anything needed. All you had to do was ask. The facility is really nice and well kept. They pay attention to even the smallest details. As an example, I asked if I could do some laundry and they told me it had already been taken care of. When I got back in my room, my clothes were folded and already put away in the closet. It really is a life changing experience. The medicine is amazing and they deliver it with plenty of education and care (thank you Johnathan!). The aftercare integration sessions are fantastic and very helpful as well. Last, but not least, this is certainly a passion of love for Aeden. He doesn’t do this for the money, he does it to change lives. He was there for hours most every day in the common areas talking life and answering questions anyone had. So I had researched Ibogaine for a while before making the decision to come. I reached out to Aeden who immediately responded and got me the dates that I could come. There’s absolutely NO words humanly possible that I can use to describe my how I feel leaving this facility. The staff is amazing, I felt like a part of the family immediately when arriving to the moment I left. The food is absolutely delicious, and they keep plenty of extra snacks to enjoy. In short, the biggest feeling I came away from this facility with was love. Genuine care for each individual patient, and a transformative experience thats lasted (so far) 3 weeks, and I don't believe it's going away either. I had an extensive opiate and amphetamine habit for the majority of my life. Got off opiates 6 years ago, but amphetamines still had quite a hold on my life, primarily because of the sever lack of motivation/will power that comes after brief periods of none-use, perpetuating my addiction. I got off of them about 3 weeks before attending Experience Ibogaine, and have literally felt like a new human being ever since. Like I did... Pre addiction 18 years ago good. Everyone's experience will be different, but I sincerely couldnt think of single negative thing to say about this facility and it's phenomenal staff, even if I had to. When I was searching for an Ibogaine treatment center I noticed most of them were large corporations. Being a small business owner myself I found Experience Ibogaine interesting because it was a smaller operation. Once I sent in a request, I was soon contacted by Aeden the owner via email. It’s funny what a small world it is…. After a few days of email exchanges, we realized Aeden and I grew up a few towns apart from each other in Western Massachusetts. We spoke on the phone and it was very clear this was the best facility based on the knowledge, expertise and personal history of Aeden.I made arrangements, I was picked up at the airport in San Diego. From that point the owner and his staff provided the most amazing help and treatment. Far beyond any of my expectations and this is not hyperbole. I was told by my doctor if I wanted to stop taking oxycodone it would be a 10% reduction every month and it would be a 1 year “tapper down.” The therapy at this facility was beyond words. I had tried to reduce the medication on my own. Always with acute side effects and most importantly serious muscle spasms that would aggravate my neck injury. After the therapy I had only very minor withdrawal symptoms and this is after over 15 years of oxycodone from my Dr. The owner and staff are experts at this type of therapy. It was just short of magic in my case. This kind of treatment is obviously the future. It’s a shame this natural medication is not legal in the States. I’m just happy I was able to find Aeden and his team. Valeria, Jonathan, Thomas, all the Dr and nurses were experts as well as extremely helpful and friendly.I was most surprised to see people that clearly needed extra help that could not afford the cost tell me Aeden and his team went above and beyond for them without charging them for the service. The entire team’s priority is helping people, even over making and losing money. I can promise you that is something you will not find at any other treatment center. I can’t thank them enough for literally changing my life. Whatever issues you are having Aeden will be able to let you know if this therapy will help and answer any questions/provide details before you arrive.

I looked into quite a few Ibogaine treatment facilities & couldn't be more happier that I chose this one. From the time I was picked up from the airport until the day I left, I felt 100% safe in their care. Their staff were absolutely amazing, very attentive to my needs & unbelievably kind & generous.I struggled with opiate addiction for more than 16 years, I was horribly addicted to fent, one of the worst, most God-forsaken substances on the planet. And I'm clean today thanks to the incredible work of these good people. Go, you won't for a single moment regret it.

The people at Experience Ibogaine are truly incredible, kind, compassionate humans. This was my second time seeking treatment as a dear friend of mine found herself addicted to heroin and meth. Her family and I were devastated and unsure how to get her the bandwidth to realize the seriousness of her situation. Words cannot describe the benefits of this medicine. Experiencing it for a second time has given me a little more insight and I realized for me, Ibogaine is not necessarily about the night of the treatment or "trip" but the month and years that follow. My body feels reset and my desire to be present for my friends and family is back. I recently came back from Experience Ibogaine and I just want to share my experience here. I never thought anything like this was even possible before I came here. Living in America my whole life, there's treatment center all around you but they would NEVER treat this issue like this place does. I feel more comfortable than ever speaking about my problem with alcohol also which is something I've been hesitant to speak about. Michael is THE MAN. He come to pick you up and drop you off to and from the airport. We had some great conversations in the car.Enrique is absolutely amazing when it comes to the Ibogaine treatment along with the whole team who is there throughout the whole process.Tomas makes AMAZING food who is the personal chef.And Jonathan is an absolute GOD when it comes to the other treatment.I seriously cannot recommend this place more enough. If you or someone you know is going through chemical dependency, this is the place to come to and do not even look anywhere else. Buy the flight, pack your bags, grab your passport, and head to Tijuana for the best experience of your life - literally. My brain is completely rewired and I truly feel reborn. Aeden is also such a genuine human being. After I left, he's been checking up on me to see how everything is doing more times than my own friends have this whole year - that says a lot about how much he cares about you.After the treatment is over, you have two free sessions with an amazing therapist who talks about your experience being there, what to expect for the time you have been free of all the demons you released, and has just... helped me unlock things about myself I didn't have the answers for but always questioned.Seriously everyone, this place is worth it.
