It is used in low doses to treat depression and in higher doses to treat addiction. Ibogaine is also used to treat chronic pain and to improve memory and concentration. It is not approved for medical use in the United States. It is legal in Canada, Mexico, and many European countries. It is classified as a Schedule I drug in the United States.
